I’m a business communications coach who teaches writing, speaking, and leadership skills to adults in the midst of a career change. Naturally, if you love what you do, the money becomes less important. But, it’s still a major factor in choosing a career path. If CPA’s didn’t earn great salaries, why would anyone put themselves through the CPA Exam ? For the love of accounting? HA! Anyone who loves accounting that much needs to get out more often!!

In getting ready for a job or career fair, the first thing that you need to do is prepare yourself by looking at all of the information that you can gather. A job fair should have a web page. On this page will be listed some or all of the companies that will be represented. Some fairs are very good and will even list off the specific positions available.

I enjoyed working directly under an ophthalmologist because I was always learning something new, and that kept me interested in the job. I also enjoyed helping patients feel at ease during exams as well. To me, it felt like I was really making a difference in the patient’s experience, and that was very rewarding.

I had already considered your point that the agency I was emailing may not have those clients on their books but I suggested that maybe they could at least see I had a talent in that area and perhaps I could be used for a specific project. But thanks for the ‘heads up’ anyway.

After working in my first floral position for a few years, I went back to school, received an MA degree in drawing and taught art for several years. Eventually my love of nature and flowers guided me back to the art of floral design. But, you absolutely do not need a Master’s degree to be a floral designer.
