When you work with other people, your personality style will interact with their’s in some pretty predictable ways. As you build a team, these interactions can have a major impact on team effectiveness. Everything from what job requirements feel comfortable to us to who we work with best is heavily influenced by our personality style blend and our knowledge of how to control it. After serving 22 years in the British forces I can relate to a few of your points but not all , in any walk of life there are difficult times, But as a soldier there is also some great times and benefits, and for those who try a great sense of achievement and pride can be had that very few others ever experience.
I don’t believe that servers/waitresses are actually the lowest paid…they work for tips, therefore they don’t claim the majority of their earnings to the irs. They are required to of course, but they don’t. I heard of someone (not me of course, Mr. IRS), who worked as a server at a steakhouse while attending college, and made atleast 5 times what was actually claimed on taxes. Hey it’s the only time in one’s life when they can screw the government on taxes instead of vice versa.
I saw a commercial supposedly promoting the governor touting the fact that there are around 7.8 million jobs in New York State, but they neglected the fact that the state has a population of 19.65 million people; numbers like that are bound to leave many people homeless regardless of their work ethic. I can’t believe you received death threats over discussing teens who get kicked out of their house over parental ideologies, because that does happen and it’s a very serious issue. I’m glad that you haven’t stopped voicing your opinion over that! All of your points are well made. Nice lens.
If you want to be a TD or compositor take photography and cinematography classes to understand how the real world appears. There are a lot of people entering this area who don’t understand such things as depth of field or image compression caused by telephoto lenses. Since you’re trying to recreate a virtual photoreal world or to augment a real world on film it’s vital to understand these factors. Learn to really look at shadow from different sources. See how lighting and bounce light affect the image. Observe atmospheric haze.
